The Welfare of Being A Landlord In South East of England

There is a diverse distribution in the prices that tenants pay for private housing within regions.

London has the highest middling monthly rent at £1452 and north east of England has its lowest at £475 per month across all bedroom categories.  The second highest is the South East, which is £845 per month.

London

In London, the average rent is £1,452, however there is a fairly large array around this between £1150 at the lower quartile and £1,950 at the upper quartile; hence 25 % of properties in London have a rent superior than £1,950.

Within London, rents are highest for Inner London where the average rent is £1668 and the highest average rent for a borough is for Kensington and Chelsea, £2492, which is the highest rent for any borough in England.

The lowest, in Inner London is for Lewisham £1200.  The average rent in Outer London is £1300, with the highest in Richmond upon Thames £1595 and the lowest in Bexley and Havering, which is £1,000.

East

In East, the average rent is £695 with a range of £570 to £900. The highest are in Hertfordshire, where for Three Rivers, it is £1225; and the lowest are for Stevenage and North Hertfordshire, £775, which is above the average for East as a whole. The lowest for a borough in East is for Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, £510.

However, readers should be cautious in drawing conclusions as the sample for each area depends on number of properties the statistics are carried upon.

Buy-to-let landlords

Landlords remain buoyant and positive about the buy to let even after the new government tax rules.

A recent survey showed that investors are looking forward to increase their portfolios with the acquisitions of more intricate property types.

HMO’s, Houses in Multiple Occupation, lets provide a higher income profit than single lets.  According to Mortgage for business, 28 % of investors are looking to buy HMO properties, which is an increase of 10% in the last 6 months.
